Ikebana flower arranging

Learn the art of ikebana flower arranging with HEY JUDE FLORALS

What is Ikebana?

Ikebana is the traditional Japanese art of floral design. It translates to "making flowers come alive" and is used as a way to bring humans + nature together. The playful one-sided arrangements are created from a flower "frog" and low dish-unlike most modern floral designs where the mechanics are hidden, Ikebana embraces them.

2 WEEK: MAKE YOUR OWN CERAMIC LAMP

In this 2 week workshop, Lauren will be teaching you how to make your own ceramic light fixture.

Week 1: We will learn how to build a base for our fixture out of clay.

Candle Wax Painting

Join resident artist Lauren Puckett as you will be using colored candle wax to paint on candlesticks. She’ll show you how to dip paint brushes into melted wax from colored tea light candles to transfer on to white candlesticks!

Each participant will receive two 10 inch candlesticks and one candlestick holder. 

You will be provided with all of the materials- paint brushes, candles, wax, and a candle holder.

This type of art is called biomorphism, or abstract forms inspired by naturally occurring patterns or shapes.
